Geeks everywhere know the name Wil Wheaton. He’s been in movies, TV shows, and has participated in (and hosted) numerous activities in the world of nerd-dom. Lately, I’ve been checking out more and more of his media content on Geek & Sundry, and discovered a new web series based upon actual gameplay from Wil’s newest RPG adventure, called Titansgrave: The Ashes of Valkana.
Titansgrave is an RPG adventure based upon the Fantasy AGE system from Green Ronin Publishing. Fantasy AGE is a system for RPGs that’s similar to Dragon Age, but it’s been made a bit more generic so that it can be utilized for any type of adventure you wish. In this case, Titansgrave is set on another planet that was ravaged a thousand years ago by a war over whether or not science and magic should really be combined. I won’t really go into too much detail on the plot, though. (As of this posting, the story’s not over, yet!)
If you enjoy playing RPGs or reading/watching anything fantasy-related, I’d highly-recommend checking out the web series for Titansgrave. The show goes into the lives of four characters living on the planet of Valkana, how they ended up together, and how they’ll stop evil from destroying the world. All of the players do a good job of getting into their characters and roleplaying. It seems they really get emotionally invested in them, and it may be hard for viewers not to be, as well.
On a side note, if you enjoy Wil Wheaton’s style of geekiness, you can get your own piece of it every few months. I also found out that he’s set up shop on Quarterly so you can get a surprise box of geek stuff every few months.
(No, I’m not affiliated in any way. I just love geek stuff, and I love sharing geek stuff!)
So, check out what’s going on over at G&S. You might just find all sorts of great things to watch and read while you’re there.
